Historical 2026 State of AI Visibility Research Brief
This is an earlier, historical research brief based on 480 completed provider-by-query observations across 30 anonymized active New York real estate salespersons. Gemini gemini-2.5-flash and Perplexity sonar were each queried across eight fixed consumer-intent query families.
This brief summarizes only validated, descriptive findings from that fixed sample. It does not claim that the results represent all real estate professionals, markets, prompts, or AI systems.
The current canonical research reference is the published three-round AI Discovery in Real Estate study with 1,440 analytical observations.
Validated findings
Recommendation visibility was 0 of 480 completed observations, and 0 of 30 sampled subjects was recommended at least once. Gemini and Perplexity each produced 0 recommendations in 240 observations; every query family produced 0 recommendations in 60 observations across both providers.
Entity recognition was resolved in 0 of 480 usable observations; 27 were ambiguous and 453 were not resolved. Perplexity exposed one or more source references in 240 of 240 responses. Gemini citation data was unsupported by the integration, which is not a zero-citation result.
Limitations
The study is descriptive, not causal or nationally representative. Results may vary by provider, model version, prompt, geography, personalization, public sources, and time. Source presence does not establish factual accuracy, support for the sampled subject, or causation.
